ACT to deliver smart ticketing in Derbyshire
ACT, has been awarded the contract to supply its smart-ticketing platform to support Derbyshire County Council’s (DCC) smart-ticketing scheme.
Following a robust supplier bidding and assessment process, which included comprehensive financial, technical, security and business process audits, ACT was selected to provide DCC’s smart-ticketing platform for the next seven years.
ACT’s smart-ticketing solution is already used by most of the East Midlands’ regional authorities and processes millions of digital transactions every month.
Certified to the latest industry standards, including ITSO and PCI, ACT’s smart-ticketing platform will enable the effective management of commercial and concessionary ticketing by DCC. The contract includes the implementation of an easy-to-manage application and renewals process through ACT’s web-ticketing portal, which is used by many forward-thinking transport authorities.
Additionally, ACT’s integrated Analytics service gives both Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council greater insight into the needs of transport users. ACT Analytics provides the visual and train of thought analysis tools to better understand passengers’ travel patterns, tailor services to match demand, reduce operating costs and surface any unusual journey activity.
Better transport planning and improved forecasting ensures transport services match passenger demand. Through ACT Analytics, transport organisations have the information and tools they need to effectively, and cost efficiently, plan their services around the needs of their passengers.
Gary Watts, CEO, ACT said: “We are delighted to be part of Derbyshire County Council’s vision for a smarter future. More and more customers are choosing our smart ticketing and payments platform to deliver a step change in passenger services. As budgets remain stretched, our products and services provide the insight our customers need to optimise operational efficiency without compromising passenger services.”
